To lament means to express sorrow, mourning, or regret; to grieve openly or to mourn aloud, and there is one entire book of the Bible most often ignored by our culture, obsessed with happiness and pleasure, called Lamentations. In this journey, we will explore the five poems contained in the book and allow the Scriptures to lead us to morning, healing, and hope as we navigate a world filled with pain and suffering.

This week, we navigate Lamentations 1:1-22 ESV and the need for introspection and reflection in our lives.

1 Peter is a letter written to be shared with all Christians in the early years of the church in a time of great persecution. Peter walked with Jesus, learned from Jesus, and launched the movement of the church. This letter helps us find hope in the midst of suffering, inspiration to live distinctly as followers of Jesus, and find purpose when we are pushed on every side to give up or conform.

This week, we navigate 1 Peter 5:1-11 ESV to discover how humility should mark every area of our lives as we follow Jesus.

Francis Schaeffer said, “Ideas have consequences.” If people believe false ideas, they inevitably act on them in disastrous ways. The only solution to such false ideas is to replace them with the truth. Theology and doctrine matter. In this series, we will work through important doctrine for followers of Jesus to understand as they strive to follow Jesus.

This week, we explore baptism and communion through the Doctrine of the Ordinances.

Throughout the Gospel accounts of Jesus, we see Him perform so many incredible miracles. These moments separate Jesus from comparison to any other religious figure throughout human history. We must grapple with why so many are collected and shared when they are beyond our comprehension. The miracles in the Gospel of Luke are more than moments of wonder; they are invitations to learn from and worship our Lord.

This week, we conclude with Luke 24:13-35 ESV, highlighting the blessing we have through the presence of Jesus.
