– Elementary Coodinator –

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Weekly:

  • Create and maintain safe and welcoming environments for kids and their families with special attention to the experience of guests.
  • Intentionally build relationships with kids and their families.
  • Coordinate & manage volunteers
  • Email out lesson plans to volunteers
  • Prep activities & snack
  • Serve at least twice a month

Monthly:

  • Decorate for each month’s theme
  • Modify elementary lesson plans & activities as needed
  • Compose a monthly volunteer email
  • Purchase activity, craft, & lesson supplies
  • Print all curriculum & take home resources

As Needed:

  • Attend staff meetings
  • Purchase & stock consumable supplies
  • Submit receipts for reimbursement

General Expectations:

  • A teachable and enthusiastic learner.
  • Present for regular worship services and special events.
  • Maintains flexible working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry.
  • Contributes to the culture of GCC through consistent collaboration with other staff.
  • Self-starter needing minimal supervision.
  • Begin and end projects within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Proficient with current technology and communication tools.
  • Knowledgeable concerning relevant legal and governmental guidelines, regulations, laws, and ethical issues.
  • Aligned with organizational vision, goals, values, and policies of Greenville Community Church.
  • Represents the Elementary ministry well to staff, volunteers, parents, and the church.

  • Hosting volunteer trainings
  • Updating handbook
  • Updating training materials
  • Updating SOPs
  • Hosting team building events
  • Researching, buying, and building needed toys, equipment, & furniture
  • Completing child safety checks
  • Planning special events
  • Planning childcare & activities for special events
  • Mailing birthday postcards
  • Communicating with families
