GCC Online – April 7th, 2024

The resurrection changes everything for followers of Jesus. This moment when Jesus defeats death, hell, and the curse of sin designates the birth of a new life for believers. That new life is meant to be continually lived out in our lives. We are different because of the resurrection. In this series, we will explore the impact of the resurrection on the life of Jesus, our lives, the church, and the future.

This week, we navigate Acts 1:1-11 ESV and find the result of the resurrection.

When it comes to the Christmas story, there is no part that we would have planned for the arrival of Jesus. God does unexpected miracles and makes unexpected moves at every turn. In our current life, God seems to be still working in the same way. What seems unexpected to us is always very intentional to God. Over the Christmas season, we explore how we are invited to respond to the unexpected movement of God around us. This week, we explore Matthew 2:1-18 ESV, the wise men, and how Mary and Joseph responded to an unexpected path that was revealed to them.

As followers of Jesus, our attitudes, values, and goals must be constantly redefined in light of the Gospel. Paul’s message to the Corinthians encourages them to live in a new way, embracing the cruciform life of Jesus. Followers of Jesus can live differently through the cross and resurrection and model generosity, humility, and weakness. This week, we navigate 2 Corinthians 12:1-10 ESV and how Jesus redefines strength.
